LAS VEGAS, USA - While behind the scenes the organizers are doing an outstanding job handling unexpected logistic problems, more and more participants are pouring in at the tournament location, the Palms Casino Resort. Contestants are checking into their rooms, trying their luck on the casino floor, and engage in casual social play.

VEGAS, USA - The top four players for 2017 move on to the final table. Masaharu Tomotake, Hiroyuki Yamada, Yutaka Nakamura, and Ryuichi Masuda. Four players, two hanchan, one champion. With one hanchan down, the path begins to emerge.

Katsuo Takeda (facing) and Lena Weinguny (opposite) pitted against each other in the Top Eight, vying for a spot at the final table.

VEGAS, USA - The third knock-out round is begun. As with the previous two knockout rounds, their scores were zeroed out, and everyone began with a new clean slate. The top two players from each table will advance on to the Final Four. Two Westerners make the cut, Lena Weinguny (AT) and Katsuo Takeda (US).
